At Hooymans Substrates in Velddriel, we work every day on high-quality substrates for the international mushroom cultivation industry. With a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, we process organic residual streams into high-quality mushroom substrate. In addition, we operate our own high-tech packaging line, allowing us to deliver customised products for transport to our international customers.


Within our organisation, quality, technology, and continuous improvement are central. Our production depends on various machines and installations, where engineering plays a crucial role.

What will you be doing?
As a Technical Service Employee, you ensure that our machines, installations, and technical processes continue to operate optimally. You resolve malfunctions, carry out maintenance, and actively contribute ideas for improvements within our production environment.

Your responsibilities:

• Resolving mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
• Performing preventive maintenance on machines and installations.
• Contributing ideas for technical improvements and optimisations.
• Supporting new construction projects and innovation.
• Contributing to a safe and tidy working environment.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a hands-on technician with a practical mindset who enjoys taking responsibility.

You have:

• Technical insight and affinity with production environments.
• Experience in a technical role or a technical education background.
• Knowledge of mechanics, electrical engineering, or hydraulics/pneumatics.
• A self-reliant and solution-oriented mindset.
• Good communication skills.

Not required, but preferred:

• Experience in production, agriculture, or process industry.
• Knowledge of welding or structural fabrication.
• Experience with and/or interest in PLCs or control engineering.
• VCA certification or willingness to obtain one.
